Volunteers are vital to WRMS’ work and mission. If you want to plug in and meet new neighbors, we’re thrilled to have you!

    Meetings: 1st Tuesday of every month

    Description: This group works to intentionally shape the physical image and character of the district as a destination attractive to the community, business owners, and visitors.

    We pay attention to all physical elements in the district such as: storefronts, signs, public spaces, public art, landscaping, window displays, and promotional materials.

    Design volunteers also provide input on historic building rehabilitation and appropriate new construction, and educate business and property owners about design and visual upkeep.

    Sample Projects: Sidewalk Audit, Tim White Way Redesign, outdoor dining, storefront signage, public murals

  • Members: Jason Brown (Acting Chair), Kanessa Alexander, Meaghan Keenan, Karen Nee, Danielle O’Brien, Jacob Robinson (ex officio)

    Meetings: 4th Tuesday of every month

    Description: This Commitee’s goal is to build a commercial district that responds to the needs of today’s consumers, thereby strengthening our community’s existing economic assets while diversifying its economic base.

    Activities include: retain and expand successful business, ensure a balanced commercial mix, sharpen the merchandising skills of business owners, attract new business aligned with the local market, convert underused commercial space into economically productive property.

    Sample Projects: Small Business Workshop & Networking Series, Principles on Commercial and Mixed-Use Developments, market research

  • Members: Brian Trabish (Co-Chair), Elizabeth Hoenscheid (Co-Chair), Antonina Guarino, Joyce Ozer, Jacob Robinson (ex officio), Paige Terry

    Meetings: 2nd Thursday of every month

    Description: Our Committee aims to shape a positive image to spark community pride and build consumer and investor confidence in the district.

    We use advertising, retail promotions, special events, and marketing campaigns, to sell to all stakeholders – shoppers, visitors, investors, current and future business and property owners - on the district’s unique characteristics, business mix, and activities.

    Signature and special events are used to provide an enriching sense of place and create bridges between local businesses and our community.

    Sample Projects: Art Walk, Westie Fest, Holiday Market, Trolley Tour and Bar Hop, storefront display contests; social media business spotlights
