Thank You for Five Amazing Years: An Update from West Roxbury Main Streets Executive Director, Jacob Robinson
Dear West Roxbury Community & Friends,
I’m writing to share with you that I will be stepping down from my role as Executive Director of West Roxbury Main Streets. Our WRMS Board of Directors is organizing a search for my successor and will post a job description shortly.
Over the past five years, I've had the privilege of becoming deeply connected with this neighborhood, its wonderful people, and our local businesses. Working alongside many of you, and with the support of our committed Board and volunteers and generous sponsors, we've come together to create and organize a wide range of projects and events for our community.
From new traditions like Bramble Day and Westie Fest (October 21st) to the festive atmosphere of the Holiday Market, these initiatives, deeply rooted in the Main Streets framework, have brought our community together. So too have equity-based development efforts and projects to enhance and beautify our streetscapes, such as the upcoming pocket park on Tim White Way. All of these activities reflect WRMS’s mission to promote a vibrant, inclusive community and equitable local economy. I'm truly proud to have played a part in this work.
The Main Streets model thrives on community involvement, innovative partnerships, and shared storytelling around our achievements and lessons learned. As we look ahead, I'm confident that WRMS will continue to thrive with your support and engagement. Our board and volunteer committees remain steadfast in their commitment to the Main Streets mission, and I urge you to join them in shaping the future of West Roxbury as a volunteer, financial supporter, or in other ways that bring unique resources and talents to serve our community.
My tenure with WRMS has been profoundly rewarding both personally and professionally through collaboration with all of you to the betterment of West Roxbury. As I step into a new chapter, I do so confident in the continued growth and success of WRMS in the capable hands of its next leader -- and the enduring impact of the Main Streets model in our community.
