In December, 1988, Martin, Angela, Hughie, and Mary Bligh purchased P.J. Cronin's and started doing business as the Corrib Pub and Restaurant. The name Corrib (pronounced COR-rib) comes from a lake in the Galway region in the west of Ireland, Lough Corrib.
